Malaria-Free Travel to Madikwe Private Game Reserve

Madikwe game reserve lies in the northern part of South Africa, along the border with Botswana, in the vicinity of Gaborone.

It is a reasonably large reserve, although one of the newer reserves around Southern Africa, being formed as recently as the 1990's from reclaimed farmland.

Although overall we don't find the experience quite as authentic as some of the other game reserves around Southern Africa, we do recommend it to those who are concerned about malaria, as Madikwe is located in a completely malaria free area.

This makes it a good overall bet for families, or the slightly more concerned traveler, and the peace of mind enjoyed could make it a great choice for you.

There are numerous lodges around the reserve, some of which are of a very good standard, and cater well to families.
