Private Beach Travel to the Quirimbas Islands

The Quirimbas Islands are and archipelago on Mozambique’s northern coastline that run from approximately where the town of Pemba is located, through the Quirimbas National Park and to the Tanzanian border to the North.

Mozambique is a huge country and the Quirimbas coastline is around 1500km from the beaches on the Ponto do Oura coastline in the South. This means that the climate, landscapes and beaches of the Quirimbas region are notably different to what you will find in southern Mozambique. Being much closer to the equator, conditions around Pemba and the Quirimbas are a lot more tropical - it is generally more humid, and somewhat less seasonal.

As a beach travel destination, the beaches and islands here are excellent and very unspoiled. Marine wildlife is outstanding, and this is a major factor when you are considering traveling to Quirimbas. Also, we find that the beaches in this area are less dramatic, less wild and a little more tranquil than those in southern Mozambique, so head here for idyllic and tranquil beach scenes and consistently warm, tropical weather. The area is also very remote - another thing that we like about it - and Quirimbas truly is a travel destination where you leave the rest of the world at home whilst on vacation here.
