Situated slightly to the North of the main Mahe island is its smaller sister island Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles archipelago.

Being a smaller island of only around 7 miles in length, the atmosphere here is somewhat more relaxed, peaceful and laid back than that found on Mahe. This, combined with its fame for white sandy beaches and clear blue water, is its main feature in our view. Anze Lazio beach on the northwest coast of the island is frequently voted amongst the best beaches in the world, and is one of the more prominent on the island.

There is much to do here in the way of activities: the island offers safe bathing in clear, clean waters, excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. The island is very green and tropical and the towering trees of the Vallee De Mai National Park and Coco De Mer make it a fantastic island for birdlife and bird lovers.

Access to Praslin is via a short 15-20 minute flight or 1-hour ferry trip from Mahe, and there are a few good accommodation options.
