WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT:

Views of the Fish River Canyon cannot be matched with those from Fish River Lodge in southern Namibia. It is the only lodge rested right on the edge of this spectacular 300 million year old canyon.

Twenty spacious chalets are positioned to ensure privacy and tranquility. The chalets are contemporary and comfortably furnished, with a separate shower, dressing facility, double basins, toilet and fan. The emphasis is on indoor/outdoor living flow, so in addition to an outdoor shower, there is an outdoor bed available to those who wish to sleep under the shooting stars.

The main lodge caters for all weather extremes throughout the year. Gourmet comfort food is served either next to warm fires in winter or outside on the deck in summer. Sundowners can be enjoyed either in the indoor or outdoor bar area which overlooks the invitingly cool swimming pool.

There are day and sunset drives as well as guided walks and hiking for a different view of this, the world’s spectacular second largest canyon.

5- Night Canyon Hike

Explore the beautiful Fish River Canyon by foot and appreciate it in a way that those outside the canyon can't, enjoying all the remoteness and beauty that the canyon has to offer. This trail has become one of Southern Africa's most popular trails, and for a good reason. Your experienced guide and his team will set up your overnight camp as well as cook for you along the way, giving you the chance to relax completely, and take a well earned break.

Due to the higher temperatures of the summer months, this trip is only available between April and September, and is recommended for active travellers. We highly recommend that you book this very well in advance, even as much as a year in advance, as there are a limited number of guests allowed each day, and it fills up very quickly.
