WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT:
Oliver’s Camp is a back-to-basics luxury camp, in one of the most uncrowded corners of East Africa.
Oliver’s Camp is situated in the southeastern parts of the Tarangire National Park, which is a remote corner of the park. This relatively undeveloped park is more for travelers looking to travel a bit off the beaten path, it is a great place for tourists that want to avoid crowds and get out into the wild. It offers a quieter alternative to the more popular parks in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater to the North, or a good destination to be combined with these areas.
The Tarangire National Park maybe less popular than those further up North, but when the season is right it can rival them in both number and diversity of wildlife. The best time to visit Oliver’s camp would be during the dry season, when the Tarangire is the only source of water, as game is in abundance.
Oliver’s camp offers some of the best bird watching in this area, with over 400 species living among the scenic baobab trees. Offering day and night game drives as well as walking safaris, there are many opportunities for exhilarating wildlife encounters.
