MOZAMBIQUE

RELAXING AND REJUVINATING MOZAMBIQUE TRAVEL

Mozambique is a very large country along the eastern coastline of southern Africa, bordering South Africa, Zimbabwe and Tanzania. It is a country with friendly locals and exquisite sights and experiences - a very popular travel destination for visitors from South Africa and the world with people travelling to Mozambique from afar for the attractions along its almost-untouched coastline. If you’re thinking of travelling to Mozambique, allow us to put a trip together for you that’s extra-special, easy, fun and relaxing.

DESERTED BEACHES, ISLANDS AND UNBELEIVEABLE MARINE LIFE

Mozambique’s coastline boasts some of the world’s longest, cleanest and least spoiled beaches - both on the mainland as well as on its island archipelagos. These beautiful islands offer some of the few remaining opportunities in the world to have an entire island to yourself, to wake up to nothing other than the sound of small waves gently caressing the beach, and sit back without a care in the world as your worries melt away.

Travel to Mozambique is not only relaxation and restoration, but is also filled with activity for those who seek it - close encounters with rare marine life, some of the most exciting diving excursions in Africa, swimming with Manta Rays and outstanding whale-watching, all in surroundings that are crisp and un-crowded.

WHAT ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS?

The top coastal destinations in Mozambique are the islands of Bazaruto & Benguerra in the Bazaruto Archipelago, followed by Tofu Beach toward the South, and Pemba in the far North. Take a look at them via the sections below, or get in touch with one of our Mozambique travel experts for more information on destinations in Mozambique.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO MOZAMBIQUE?

The Best Time to travel to Mozambique is during the drier winter months between May and October. Conditions are pleasant at this time of year with temperatures up to 20 or 25 degrees, little rainfall, and clean dry air. During the hotter summer months between November and April, temperatures rise up into the 30’s, afternoon thundershowers are common and it can become slightly humid, notably as you travel further north toward Pemba. Pemba is very close to the equator and has a clearly equatorial climate. Seasonality is an important consideration for guest wishing to dive with the Manta Rays and Whale Sharks - the best months to do these are between October and December, although September is also a fair time. Humpback whale sightings are also at their peak during during September.
