LUXURY SAFARIS IN ZIMBABWE
The southern African country of Zimbabwe lies between South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique and Zambia - where the Zambezi River forms a natural boundary. It is a landlocked country with a tropical climate that experiences a hot and wet summer, rainy season from November through to March, followed by far drier winters.
Despite its many challenges over the past two decades, Zimbabwe is slowly gaining economic strength, and is becoming a more popular destination for tourists once again, due to its natural beauty and wonderful safari experiences. The national heritage site of Victoria Falls, with its 2km wide sheet of thunderous water cascading into the Zambezi Gorge, is a major tourist attraction. Visitors to Zimbabwe are exploring other national treasures as well, such as the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, which are hundreds of years old and the Hwange National Park. A wildlife sanctuary, which houses a huge elephant population as well as plenty of other big game, smaller animals and bird species.
At the lower end of the Zambezi River is more excellent game viewing destinations such as Lake Kariba, Matusadona, and Zambezi National Park. Mana Pools National Park is also here - a loved safari destination situated on the shores of the river that provides excellent opportunities for game viewing and bird spotting.
Zimbabwe’s abundant wildlife, gorgeous landscapes and friendly people is evident wherever you go - despite the challenges - and its parks and lodges offer alternative destinations for wildlife viewing.
