MEMORABLE SAFARIS IN THE LINYANTI AND SELINDA
The Linyanti and Selinda concessions are fantastic safari areas, linking the north of the Okavango Delta to the Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. Migrating game have free movement over a vast area here, their life sustained by the somewhat smaller Kwando River.
The Kwando River area tends to be drier than most parts of the Okavango Delta, and is an excellent area for big game, which has lent itself well to experiencing plentiful large cat predator action.
During the dry season the permanent waters of the Kwando riverfront are a big attraction to these magnificent animals due to the high numbers of elephant and buffalo that the river attracts.
REMOTE CONCESSIONS WITH STRONG WILDLIFE NUMBERS
There are a few large private reserves in this area protecting good concentrations of wildlife, and there are no fences between these private reserves and the public parks, so game are able to roam freely between them. Since these are more remote than the public parks, they offer more private safaris than are possible in the busier public concessions.
The Selinda Camp is especially well located, defining tranquility as it hangs over the edge of the Selinda Spillway, and is in a prime position to see game coming down to the water's edge to drink. On the higher end, while you are in this area we would simply have to recommend Zarafa. Take a quick look, and you'll see why: It is clearly a private game sanctuary second to none.
