WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT:

Tucked away in the remote Makgadikgadi Pan - a 16,000 square kilometers flat, white salt pan that stretches as far as the eye can see - lies Jack’s Camp. It is a traditional East African 1940's safari style camp that is pitched among an oasis of stately desert palms on low lying grasslands between the Kalahari acacia trees.

Spacious, luxury canvas tents adorned with Persian rugs and top-quality linen are perfect for guests looking for a quiet, indulgent getaway. En-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers and a pool pavilion with loungers are for cooling off on hot African summer afternoons.

Game drives and quad bike adventures take you to fascinating archaeological sites of fossil beds when the climate is right. When water levels are high, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and flamingos migrate to the pan. So too do their lion and cheetah predator threats.

10 spacious canvas tents. The camp can accommodate a maximum of 20 guests.

EXTRA FACILITIES:

A tent with a natural history museum, a library, antique pool table, swimming pool, outdoor showers, and private verandahs.

WHAT I CAN TO DO THERE:

Plentiful safari drives with experienced rangers and trackers. Enjoy relaxing by the pool and on the open deck. Take the opportunity to interact with local people and learn about their culture on one of the guided bush walks. Visit Chapman’s Baobab- one of the third largest and oldest trees in Africa.
